That’s A Wrap
ISIS Productions has finished up shooting the feature film “Rune” entirely in Oklahoma City. Using local settings, the City has doubled for Berlin, Cairo, and Mexico City. Better still, the company used mostly local actors, culled from OU’s drama department, local theater groups, and anyone who answered the call for actors.
Bob Hensley of Norman, Oklahoma, is a retiree who stopped into the production office with hopes of appearing in the background, and ended up being cast as one of the main characters.
Says producer S.E. Kenlon: “Bob’s a natural actor, so we cast him as one of the lead parts. I think a lot of people don’t realize how talented they are until someone else tells them. Nobody should ever limit themselves from doing what they want to do for fear of lack of talent.”
Oklahoma City has proven itself to be a fine host for the film company, with local businesses pitching in to help any way they could. Says director Arayna Thomas, “We were amazed at the reception we received from the people and businesses here. Everyone’s been such a tremendous help, and most people are willing to move mountains to make the shoot a success.”
The movie “Rune” will go through editing and special effects for the rest of the year and should hit theaters sometime in 2006. For continued updates on the project, go to www.runethemovie.com
